Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1995 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized as AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. She has previously released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis in a commercial for Christmas by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry's endorsement of her song Runaway via a blog post brought the singer additional appreciation. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in the attic of her home, then becoming enthralled by the sounds it produced. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as an occupation or pastime but to grow. She began to write her own compositions. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love for Bjork's style. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote might not gain fame for her rather to help people to realize the importance of their work and influence on this world, she started singing them in public. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument, at six. She started creating music after turning nine. Family members didn't even know about this until she was 14. Aurora's success was never her dream. Aurora says she loves to compose music. For her, music is the most effective method of feeling anything.
